Bonsucro is committed to supporting the sugarcane sector to adapt and mitigate against the impacts of climate change. Setting science-based climate targets has become easier for the sugarcane sector with Bonsucro’s ClimateCane Tracker.
Launched in 2023, the ClimateCane Tracker can help sugarcane farms, mills and companies sourcing sugarcane derivatives set targets and clear pathways to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in line with climate science.
The tool was designed specifically for the sugarcane sector using the Science-Based Targets initiative’s (SBTi) guidance on Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) emissions to the sugarcane sector.

Let us know how you are using the ClimateCane Tracker
We encourage our members to share how they are using the Bonsucro ClimateCane Tracker in their sustainability journey – particularly how it has been integrated into their business operations to drive climate action.
Interested members must submit a two-page Word document explaining their journey using the ClimateCane Tracker. Additional visual resources to illustrate the narrative are encouraged and may include, but are not limited to:
- Videos explaining the company’s journey to adopt the tool
- Published GHG reduction targets, derived from using the ClimateCane Tracker
- Social media activity
- Other visual communication materials giving evidence of the use of the ClimateCane Tracker and progress
