The Bonsucro Impact Fund supports innovative projects that address critical sustainability challenges faced by the sugarcane sector. Using income from the Bonsucro Credit Trading Platform, our Fund offers our members the chance to apply for thematic grants for projects that catalyse sustainable sugarcane production.

A call for proposals opened on 6 October with a focus on smallholder farmers.

Specifically, seeking projects that will bring about the following impacts:

  1. Increased adoption of sustainable farming practices by smallholder farmers
  2. Innovations that incentivise and enable the adoption of sustainable agriculture practices by small farmers to support their economic resilience (e.g., supporting small farmers to organise themselves into viable groups; piloting economic incentives to promote the transition of smallholder farmers to sustainable practices).

Bonsucro members are now invited to apply for our Impact grant of up to £100,000 – by submitting a concept note for projects that will produce tangible results and impact for communities within the sugarcane sector, while at the same time enhancing knowledge and learning for the industry. These projects should demonstrate the potential for change and scalability.

Innovation grants of up to £50,000 are also available for pilot projects that test innovative tools and partnerships that improve smallholder farmer production in the sugarcane sector.
