Overview
Bonsucro is seeking an experienced consultant to conduct a content validation and structural review of the Carbon Accounting in Sugarcane – Bonsucro Calculator User Guide.
Background
As part of our climate action commitment, we have published a document entitled Carbon Accounting in Sugarcane – Bonsucro Calculator User Guide, which is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the methodology used to calculate greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions within the Bonsucro Calculator.
The Bonsucro Calculator is used to assess a company’s compliance with the Bonsucro Standards, which include a calculation of the company’s carbon footprint and is designed to streamline the data input process – making it easy for users to input all the necessary data needed to achieve certification. The calculation of carbon footprint is a requirement under the Bonsucro Production Standard, and the guidance clarifies the methodology used for that.
Key objectives
- Ensure the document is coherent, well-structured, and logical from an academic perspective while acknowledging that a comprehensive methodology revision is unnecessary as it has already been completed.
- Highlight any issues within the document (i.e., any red flag) that could undermine its credibility and proactively address questions or concerns that stakeholders might raise regarding the methodology to safeguard its integrity and reliability.
It is expected that the consultant will develop their own methodology for reviewing the document
Please note that the document Carbon Accounting in Sugarcane – Bonsucro Calculator User Guide has 65 pages, 30 of which describe the GHG methodology and the others are tables and information on how to calculate land-use change (LUC) emissions.

Deliverables
The consultant is expected to conduct and deliver the following:

| 2 | Amendment of the document "Carbon Accounting in Sugarcane - Bonsucro Calculator User Guide" according to the review's findings. | A new version of the document (in Word, with track changes) that reflects the suggested changes according to the review. |
